KU Calves Got Nothin' on Duomo Calves!

We were so lucky the weather was so beautiful today! After class got out, we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Florence. Since it was such a gorgeous day, we decided to climb the Duomo steps to see the view of Florence. 20 minutes of waiting, 8 euro, and 463 steps later we finally made it to the top! The trek up the narrow stairwells was quite a workout, but the view definitely made it all worth it.

I lit a candle and offered up a prayer for all of you back at home!

The line to climb to the top of the Duomo was long, so we decided to get some gelato while we waited :)

Almost there!

Clearly an effective sign.

Started from the bottom, now we're here.

The climb was definitely worth it!

After our journey to the top of the Duomo, we decided to venture to the outskirts of Florence to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the legendary view of the city. Once we got there, the view was absolutely gorgeous, and we were able to see most of the major landmarks of Florence.

On the way home, we decided to get gelato for the second time today, and it was a great decision on our part... By far, it was the best gelato I've ever eaten! We got it from an organic gelateria close to our school... SO GOOD! We will definitely be going back soon.

That's all for today. Abbracci e baci!
